plans for amish style chicken coop

Does anyone have basic plans for one of these coops i'd love to build one thanks Rick

Hi there and welcome to BYC - I havent even ever seen an Amish style coop- but your post intrigued me and I went for a google...Couldnt find any plans on any of the sites I saw though. Maybe you could just draw up your own design from images if you google for images.. That way you can make it the exact size you want- and add any extra features too!

Thanks for the reply, i think thats what i'm going to do, i'd build something a little easier but its for a friend and she wants a more decorative type setup etc.....so i think i'll build one kinda off a picture lol

I don't have any plans, my husband built our first coop from a picture in a magazine that I pointed out. Here's a picture mid construction, if it helps you. The top open space is the window with a drop down plywood to latch into place. The bottom opening is for the lid to the nest boxes.

I am currently building a Amish style coop and will be posting some construction pictures soon. the roof is salt-box style with a 30 degree angle. the dimension of the coop is 4x6. The front ended up being 5ft tall, apex is around 6ft and the back is 4ft tall. those heights do not include the 18 inch 4x4 stilts I have it on so my RIRs can have some shade underneath the 4x6 footprint. Will try to post pictures soon and I would like to write the plans up in Google sketch.
