hello I have a bantam hen(momma) that is less than a 1lb in weight about 0.853lbs at the moment,I want to give her tumeric for she has chronic inflammation in her body is what a blood test at the vet showed, she is having diahrea as well and is losing weight even though she is eating/drinking.ive been giving her pre and probiotics with cinnamon essential oil & ACV in her water for awhile now and she is still losing weight,I think the inflammation may be starting to go down just a tad bit but not sure?I just ordered electrolytes/vitamins cause I was thinking with all the diahrea maybe an electrolyte/vitamin mix would help, wondering if she isn't obsorbing the nutrients of her feed well due to the diahrea and maybe that's why she is losing weight?so to help even further I'd like to feed her tumeric/black pepper but am curious if anyone knows how much I would feed her?I need an easy explanation for I have a brain injury and complicated math will be too much for me!I just started switching my hens over to new organic feed for which they love but am mixing it in with there original sub par feed that I bought last June(maybe it's the old feed causing issues as well)to slowly transition them over.my other hen(Franny the granny) is a lil over 1.6 lbs curious how much I would feed her as well, she has a respiratory infection for which she's on antibiotics for about 12 days now(second round, she was on them for 20days the first round) but there not really doing the trick so wanted to boost her immune system as well to help her fight this off better!was planning on mixing it into coconut oil to feed rhem, how much per each hens weight would indeed this as well?I usually give momma about an 1/8 of a tsp.. any help is very much appreciated, thank you❣️pic 1 is franny, pics 2 & 3 are momma🐔💞🐔

Ok, I'm thinking you're feeding too many supplements and now you're in the process of changing feed. This is just my opinion so wait to see what others have to say.

Are you sure it's diarrhea and not the cecal poop you're seeing?
Could we get a picture of her poop?

Weight loss could be due to the diarrhea, which could be due to all the supplements and/or the change in feed. Is she having any other symptoms?

How old is she? Breed?
Have you checked for mites/lice?

I just read about this for one of my hens. What I read said 1/2 tsp for a 5 pound hen. I do not remember the source though, nor can I vouch for it. Kind of like everything you read on the internet! I believe turmeric is one of those things that isn’t going to be dangerous to give to your birds. I don’t give anything long-term though, other than just a normal healthy diet. Oh, and too many treats that they shouldn’t get. I do that too.

Cinnamon oil is highly caustic and could be causing the inflammation.
What is her diet, brand and type? Have you wormed her recently? Can you get pictures of the diarrhea?
Have you tried addressing any crop issues?
thank you for your reply:)I read that cinnamon is an anti inflammatory and good for chickens & I bought these probiotics specifically for chickens and they have the cinnamon oil in them..I treated her doughy crop about a month back with Acidified Copper Sulfate and regret it cause ever since the last day of that treatment she now has a couple of lumps in her abdomen and the vet says the blood work shows chronic inflammation in her body.i tried giving her a lil less than half an 1/8 of a tsp of tumeric, then black pepper, and then ginger all mixed up with an 1/8 of tsp coconut oil but they didn't like the mix at all so I tried mixing into mash with banana, still didn't like it so I tried again with just ginger and coconut oil and momma gobbled it up no problem, decided not to give any to franny..taking them to an avian specialist tomarrow morning instead of a generic chicken vet, wish us all of the luck please!✨🤞🐔💞🐔🤞✨..has been on xcel layer pellets for 10 years, slowly switching them over to egglands best organic mini pellets and they really love it so far!they had a fecal test done,no parasites:)this all started after momma lost her life partner Mr rooster of 10years a few months ago,fed her too much treat seed for 14 days in a row,put her on antibiotics for the respiratory infection he died from a few after he passed away and it was only a few days after he passed away that I started hearing these gurgles/squeaks when she eats/drinks,then doughy crop treated stupidly with ACS but it did clear up the doughy crop but now these lumps/chronic inflammation, she started having diahrea before the ACS treatment but it got much worse since that treatment as well!now Franny is getting worse diahrea similar to momma's,she is on antibiotics for she caught the same respiratory infection momma had!..anyhoo specialist tomarrow, please put out the good vibes and prayers for a good treatable solution, thank you❣️🌈🙏🐔💞🐔🙏🌈❣️
