I knew the adults didn’t like young chicks. I thought this age would be okay they’re like about 3 weeks old. I tested it out and there wasn’t problems. Plus we have ten new ones and was testing out who could stand being with the adults.

I put the youngest sapphire gems in, was told they were girls.
Please tell me how to help her! She the ONLY one who got injured!!
When she stretches her neck, when I picked her up I swear you could see the ligaments ? I’ll post pics. But when she’s sitting normal you can notice it. It’s all bloody it must’ve happened around 6-7am this morning

Which is only when 3 adults are in there since the #cockerel &#1 (in pecking order) go into a box in the garage at night.

Please look and tell me what I should do! Looked the the skin was ripped off. She moves fine and is eating but should I separate her???
PLEASE HELP!!!!

She is still out in the coop with her sisters. It’s been almost 3 hours since I’ve noticed. Please I need anyone’s opinion asap!

It’s been about 3-4 days since it happened.

I’m posting pics of when it happened, and right now, 11pm central time.

My fire fighter friend gave me sterile water, gauze, povidone-iodine prep pads. He said she won’t make it til Saturday.
He offered to give me Etomidate, can I use any of this stuff on her? I’m bathing her tmw. I just want the least possible pain. I’ve put on Neosporin without the pain reliever.
But I am worried about flies, leaving eggs & maggots growing in this open section since someone here told me to not let it scab over.

Please help, what do I do now??? Does she have a chance? Should I let it scab she’s too young to reach the area.

Please tell me your opinion on the difference.

If I took her to a vet they would need skin… she’s too small to donate skin from anywhere on her.
I’m terrified and full of regret.
Please, tell me what you think !!

&if those meds are okay to use on her!
She peeps when held and during the day, sleeps and seems calm at night…
I do have her separated.

You’ll want to cover that with antibiotics so it dosn’t become septic. I don’t know what kind, but I’ll look around and get back to you. You should trim the feathers around her wound for cleanliness and to keep it from getting feathers in it.

Make sure she’s separate from the others. Give her molasses or poultry nutridrench in water to help her electrolyte levels and blood sugar. Also, normal feed and normal water so she can have free choice of what she needs. I’ll try and find some people who know more than me, they can help with more direct treatment options
