Possible Appenzeller?

This chick came from a ‘non-created’ bin…but obviously has something going on up top. Doesn’t look like the Polish babies we have and vaguely resembles our AS when he was young. Any thoughts? Photos are a week apart.

I agree it looks like a Gold Spitzhauben, although I wouldn't expect to find that in a feed store.

I wonder if it could be a Gold Laced Polish?

The crest currently looks more like a Spitz crest than a Polish crest, and I can't tell if the feathers will be spangled (Spitz) or laced (Polish) when it grows up. Either one can show odd markings in the feathers at this age.

I'll be curious to see how it looks as it gets older!
