Hello Chicken Lovers! Meet Phil, he is our rooster that is 9 months old. We recently discovered this lump on his back. His feathers are all over the place so we suspect this is an ingrown feather on his back near his tail. I am not sure if I should try to attempt to excise it or expose this lump? Below is a far away and then a close up of the lump. Any positive suggestions would be appreciated, he is pretty easy to handle. I have been placing drawing salve the last two days on it which did lesson the appearance of redness but did not "pull" anything out. Does anyone know if I use a salve, how many days it may take to "pull" the feather out? I would prefer not to cut the little guy. TYIAFYT
