My blue laced red whyandotte started squinting her right eye for the past day and tonight when I put her up I noticed there was a lot of clear liquid with a few bubbles but not white/foamy nor did the eye itself look red or damaged and she was making different chatting sounds than usual when I put her up for the night, deeper and a bit nasally. Any ideas or remedies?

Could she have been pecked around the eye? Do you hear any sneezing or gasping, labored breathing? Eye foam and swelling can be signs of mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG.) If you think it is a respiratory infection, and not a peck wound that has caused this, I would try to get Tylan 50 injectable to give orally, or Tylosin powder for the water to treat for MG.

Possibly, we got some new hens recently and one of them does fight with her I try to referee a fight every now and then to make sure they don’t hurt eachother or play dirty when I don’t have them separate, but my parents just let them out freely when I’m not home so there’s that.

You can try to medicate the eye with cleaning it with saline or eye wash, and applying some Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin in the eye twice a day. Tylan 50 is the best for respiratory infections though. It still is over the counter until summertime.
