Prolapse or poop?

I noticed two days ago this chick was a growing very big and he had stopped eating for the most part. Did manage to get him to drink some water and today I looked it up and then got him to eat some greuel. When I looked at why he still wasn't gaining much weight I noticed this hanging out of his vent. I did manage to get some poop and some farts from him by massaging it with a wet rag. But it's not getting any softer and it appears that it might have a little mucus on it so I'm not sure if it is a piece of intestine. Like a prolapse. Or if it's just a huge piece of poop that he can't pass through his vent.

Okay...it's really hard to tell from a photo...but I *think* that is poop. Intestine would be more loopy worm like, and I don't think it could come through the vent that way. Usually vent prolapse looks different (see link below). I also see a clear vent outline, and the vent is not prolapsed but protruding because of what I think is constipated poop.

I would try to tease very gently with warm epsom salt water. I think the poop will loosen up and come out/off.

Anyway, gently soak hoping it is poop. If it is, clearing the blockage should get chick back up and running again. Eye dropper Chick Saver vitamins and electrolytes to help recovery.

My thoughts.
