Do you mind me asking how you can tell? We are brand new to owning chickens and I had read that an EE with a pea comb with a single row is a pullet and three rows is a cockerel but the second chicken appears to have three rows but only at the top of the comb. That is why I was asking.

I would appreciate any info that I can use for future reference.

That is a very good question The 3 row pea comb = cockerel and 1 row = pullet is not always true, yes most the time it is but since they are technically "mutts" they don't actually have definite ways to sex. If they were cockerels their combs would be plumper and much redder. Also they would have both male saddle, hackle, and sickle feathers growing in.
