I keep birds for meat, pets, eggs, and breeding.

I keep mine for both eggs and pets. We had to dispatch some roos a while ago, but that's the exception. They're also just fun to watch.

So cool to see all of your guys replies! Im a vegan, so use them for not eggs or meat purposes. Their just for pets mainly, however i do like to use them for showing and future breeding! (If their comfortable with the showing)

I raise them for eggs and meat primarily but am wanting to use them for breeding/showing eventually. They are "kinda" pets. I don't let them in the house or anything, but I don't treat them solely as livestock.

What do you do with the eggs? Are you vegan for health reasons? Obviously if you raise the chickens and care for them you aren't avoiding eating the eggs because of animal cruelty reasons. Just curious. I cook at a vegan restaurant so I am always curious though I'm not vegan myself.
