There are several youtube videos of home made Coyote rollers mad from PVC schedule 20 or 40 . But they all have a cable inside of them to roll on, which is really crude and a hassle to make. There is much simpler and effective way to do this.

You buy end caps for the piece of PVC pipe and drill a 1/4" hole in the center of each end cap. Next, you buy some 1/4-20 bolts, 2 inches long and 1/4-20 jam nuts and a few packs of the 90 degree L brackets that are about 1.5-2 inches, with screws. Place one of the bolts in the top hole of the L bracket and secure it with a jam nut, repeat with all the brackets. Use the screws to mount one bracket the top of your fence. Then measure and cut a piece of 1-1/4" PVC pipe to the desired length, and put the drilled end caps on it and insert the roller onto the one bolt on the bracket you mounted on the fence. Have someone hold the roller in position while you put the other bracket and bolt into the end cap of the roller and screw the bracket to the fence....Voila, done! It rolls much better, and you do not need to glue the end caps on, and you can spray paint the PVC roller to match the fence.

Also, a neon sign transformer costs about $15 and delivers 5KV@30mA and works perfectly for a 2 wire electric fence of up to 500 yards or more. Electric fence "chargers" which have the same specifications start at $50 and run up to $300.

I will be starting this project this afternoon, I have one block wall in my back yard that has green belt on other side. When I chase the coyotes out of my yard thats where they jump over. I had 2 giant coyotes in my yard a few days ago and one of them was actually on my porch when I came out to chase the one I seen in yard away. My only question about this is will this bend in the middle? I am in Phx Az and it gets really hot.

Great idea. However I need to mount these to the tops if my metal gates. That is where mine are escaping. I have one gate that is about 5ft and I'm afraid the pvc will bend to the weight of the chicken and not spin.
