Quail running in circles???

Today I noticed one of my two male quail ran along the wall, around a rock,over it and back along the wall over and over again! What might be the cause? Our aviary is about 2:30-250 tall and the wire on top is loose so if they fly up they won't hit their heads too hard! He doesn't do it all day but he just sometimes does it like 5 times in a row! I hope he's not mentally damaged or something. :/

I vote nervous or bored...what type of quail? my buttons do this when I am near the cage for too long, just nerves.

Button quails do that a lot. Usually they do that when they're in a small place without a big window to see outside. But my quails still do that even though they live outside.

ok I think I just found out whats going on. you say they do it when their nervous! I just got two chicken from a friend and they are still in the part of our yard where the aviary with the quail is. They must be scared and nervous because of them. I got the chicken about a week ago and that's when it started! Thanks..... oh and the chicken will soon be in the large part of our yard permanently so they won't be near the quail anymore!
