I have a beautiful true black purebred silky hen and a darker partridge or splash silky (cam't decide which one to use but both pure roos) that I want to breed and I'm wondering if I breed these different colours and my brood of chicks are a mix of colours can I sell them as pure breeds or would they have to mixes even tho they are bred from purebreds just cause they are different colours

Thanks any comments, suggestion or advice wanted :bow

All pure silkies no matter the color or feather patterns, bred to other pure silkies, are all still pure silkies.

The only time it matters is if you're breeding to show, some odder variations you come up with, while unique and beautiful, may not be accepted. Most people who don't show, go for the beauty!

Good luck!
