Question about silkies

Hi so I have A beautiful partridge silky rooster and 3 black silky hen's so far out of 10babies babies they're all black no Partridge babies Is black the dominantcolor
Yes it is. Both parents have to either be Partridge or carry Partridge for the Chicks to come out Partridge.
Some of the chicks may develop some Partridge coloring especially on their head and chest as they feather in.😊

Yes, and it's not just with Silkies. It's with all chickens. What we call Extended Black is dominant over Partridge. As long as the mix is extended black and partridge the back will dominate. There are other genetics that can modify black to be blue, lavender, or white so if they get in the mix you might get those but you won't get partridge.

If you breed those chicks you should get about 1/4 partridge and 3/4 black. When you breed mixes you don't get consistent results.
