Okay so I was always the kid who would slowly peel tape back on my Christmas Gifts so I could take a peek WEEKS before the big day.
I guess i'm no better with hatching eggs and am dying to see something really cool inside them.
So, tonight, day #2, I candled some of the eggs. Just a few as I didn't want to be opening the bator too much.
What we saw looked like a yolk that was free floating. As I would gently turn the egg over the light, the yolk would float slowly up to the top.
Now, understand, like I said it's only day two and these eggs are VERY light brown bantam eggs.
We candled them before puting them in the bator and didn't see this.
Do you all think this sounds promising? This is my first attempt at incubation and I can't hardly contain myself. I promise I won't peek at them for several more days now.

Does that sound like "good" eggs????

I wouldn't judge too much this early on, but I also wouldn't worry about candling too much. I am hatching eggs in my 3rd grade class, and the kids and I have candled our egg EVERY day, sometimes even twice a day. It's fun, isn't it?
