I've been catching rats and mice (in addition to sparrows and chipmunks) in the duck run for such a long time. Recently, I've come across a device claiming effectiveness against insects, arachnids and small rodents. It is called "Ultrasonic Pest Repeller". I was wondering if this device would at any way affect my ducks. Getting rid of the rodents is a good thing, but not if it drives my ducks insane...

Thanks guys!

Granted this was like fifteen years ago... But the one we put in our kitchen most definitely did not work. We saw zero reduction in bugs, and at one point had a mouse fall out of the kitchen light fixture and get stuck in the sink. Hilarity did ensue, good story there.

Specifically in regards to ducks and other fowl? That I do not know. I'm curious to know if newer models have proven more effective if anyone would care to add their two cents?

If it's not too expensive, or in this digital era too difficult to return, and no one gives a specific answer concerning ducks, might I recommend giving it a trial run under supervision? Only have it powered on when you can check in every couple of minutes, maybe on a weekend if you work during the week. After all, science experiments can be fun!

Fortunately (or unfortunately) as the case maybe, Sonic Pest repellers are as effective today as they were 15 years ago when Elyrian1 tried this method. What has improved however is the speed at which these sonic repellers can repel the cash right out of your pocket, seemingly in the twinkling of a debit card. In a word "Cavet Emporium" OK, so that's two words.

I bought two bird repellers to prevent my hens from getting in front of my backdoor, the hens don't seem to notice their presence.

They're scams. They don't work. Stay away. Remove all food and water overnight. leave just enough Dcon out for the rats to eat overnight but not leave any in the morning. Repeat every night for a few nights. Rats gone!
