Hello All,

I'm in the process of building a no-spill feeder for my flock and have a couple questions. How many "ports" do you reccomend per chicken. I'm going to be adding to my flock soon so want to plan for the future. Say if I have 50 chickens how many feeding holes do I recommend? 10? 25? I have a gravity feeder now, that has enough room for everyone to eat at the same time, so I'd appreciate some advice on how many to have. Also, do you reccomend 60* or 90* elbows?

Thanks!

I would suggest you make multiple feeders. Use 5 gallon plastic food grade buckets, and install 3 -- 90* degree elbows into each bucket. Some peeps install 4 per bucket. Bottom of elbow should be about 1 inch from bottom of bucket.
Many peeps use 3 inch PVC. I would personally use 4 inch myself.
Start with 3 feeders and see if it carries your 50 chicken flock. Advantage with a 5 gallon feeder,,,,,,,, Lighter.... Easier to remove if needed to due to weather, or rodent stealing feed. Feed does get consumed, and there is no uneaten feed in middle of a larger barrel. (there are ways to overcome that, but gets somewhat involved) You can install plugs into elbows for the nighttime, if you do have rodent issues.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:
