Quilted tree skirt -- Need advice

How would I go about making something like this? I can't find a pattern anywhere online!

It reminds me of the Bargello type quilts. I would search for "Bargello Tree Skirt pattern" and see if you have any luck.

Yup, those are bargello wedges. This website gives good ideas about making a bargello quilt. I think that if you changed the strip widths and cut the bargello strips slightly wedged, it would work.

CL, check the book Quilts Without Corners by Cheryl Phillips. It has a pattern called speedy spiral that may be the one you're looking for. I just saw this on Amazon.com and the pic of the patterns wasn't the greatest.

That tree skirt is beautiful! If you do find a pattern would you share it, please?
We have one we've been using forever. It was made by my DMIL, but I've been thinking I want a new one. The big problem would be convincing my daughters as they like tradition and would want the old one.

I was thinking if you modify a Dresden pattern you would come up with that.

Make the Dresden pattern larger than you want the finished quilted piece and cut circled rounds from it, to create the variegated turning effect.

This is a free wedge tool template. For making circles. I was as close to the pattern you can get.
