Does anyone have experience with mastitis in rabbits? Can rabbits be treated DIY or must they be treated by a vet?

Thank youI treat rabbits with mastitis with LA-200 .1cc/pound sub q once daily for 5-6 days. Take this with a grain of salt, as I really don't want to be responsible if stuff goes sideways. Bottom line if you think you need a vet/second opinion, then get one.
Found most times mastitis is brought on at weaning. If you wean too quickly, they seem to be susceptible to it. Dead batch of kits, or otherwise losing all at once cannot be helped sometimes either. I just keep an eye out and take what comes. Typically after 3-4 days of no symptoms after an event like this you are in the clear. I watch for 5-6 days.
