To all the rabbit loves or breeders i want to know using a rabbit nesting box or not. I've used a nesting box before until last early spring when one of my rabbits babies about a week old fell out of the nesting box and almost froze. when i found her their was only a little life in her. i had to wrap her in a heating blanket until she warmed up luckily her mom took her back and shes doing great so i wanna know whats your opinion/ experience with rabbit nesting boxes.

I use nest boxes for all of my bred rabbits. They help keep kits warm, confined, clean, and out of the doe's way (except when she hops in to feed them). I haven't had a problem with kits getting stuck outside the nest box, but as you found out, it can happen.

ya that's what we thought happened to the baby and we were worried that next time we wouldn't get their in time so we just put lots of hay in the cage. the only problem is once they start moving around you have to watch when you open the door of the cage. our cage is an indoor out door cage and the nest is in the inside part so their paws wont get caught on the wire.
