In rabbits, that part of the body is called a vent, and the condition in the picture is called vent disease or rabbit syphilis. As the name suggest, the infection is most often transmitted by breeding, though rabbits that are badly infected often refuse to breed. That rabbit will need a course of antibiotics to recover; left alone, the rabbit will probably develop scabs on the nose and lips and possibly eyes as well.
