Hi!
This morning I happened on an egg in the pen. Unfortunately I didn’t see it in time before accidentally crushing part of it. It does have a slight deformity to the shell (thinner in one area, thicker in another)
Only birds in the pen that would be laying age are my 3 year old turkey and 3 year old Guinea Fowl. The turkey is female and I am pretty sure the Guinea is a male (has a male call).
In the pen we have 2 chicks (14 weeks pretty sure will be hens), breed was suppose to be starlight green egger but I have my doubts. 20 chicks (9 weekers) of variety of different types of breeds. Then finally poults (8 weeks) mixed Ridley and unknown.
Think this is a Guinea and we just have one who just started laying? They use to have a flock of 2 others but unfortunately a raccoon got them over a year ago. We haven’t had Guinea eggs at any point since then either, as the ones we lost were our females…or so we thought.
Thoughts?
