Ready to sneak chic under broody

ok. 2 questions. Hen has been broody since beginning of month. Got 8 day old chics to put under her tonight. She is nesting on 2nd level of boxes and sits in front of her box and is very alert even at night. I have my old coop available with 2 nest boxes I can access from hinged lid. I think would be easier to slip chicks in the old box from above. Should I move her and her eggs today or take my chances where she is.

Take your chances where she is. Broodies are most comfortable on their original nest, and you want to complicate this as little as possible. Good luck.

I took your advice... all went great. I moved mama and babies to floor of roost area today. Set up a few hide-outs for them, plus their food and water. ALL are happy
