Rhode Island Red and Easter Egger Mix

for the last two years my RIR rooster and EE have had 8 pullets. 7 have been red 1 of the eight is a black sheep. Would this be some recessive trait?

I attached pictures of the rooster, mommy hen, typical red offspring, and the dark mix.

They are beautiful that black sheep is all mommy's fault because EE's are a mix of breeds they can be any color she just happened to pick that color when they were passing the gean around
