I crossed a RIR roo and a Delaware hen (bantams) and hatched chicks that look like New Hampshires. Can anyone out there tell me if they have had any experiences w/this type of cross and what the chicks looked like.

Also it is possible to have a Black Star bantam, correct? I crossed the same RIR roo to a Barred Rock hen and hatched 3 little females (solid black) and 1 male (black w/yellow spot on head).

Thanks!

Pullets/hens should turn out mostly red with some white speckles in different areas, but the roosters/ cockerels will be mostly white with a bit of tan or light cream color on shoulders or back, they also may have some slight black tail barring like the Delaware. I have hatched some of these myself.
I use Rhode island red rooster and purebred Delaware hens/ not Bantams
