Rooster attack

We have a similar situation and at first I also did not know what to do but as they can cause serious injuries and there are so many friendly roosters getting chopped because they don't find a new home my recommendation in the future will also be: Chop him and get a new one!

My 6-month-old rooster just attacked me for the first time. He's been fixating on one hen during mating and often hurts her. Whenever I see this, I pull him off and shoo him away. However, this time, he bit my hand hard enough to draw blood, which has never happened before. Is there still hope to correct this behavior? After leaving him alone for about two hours, I returned, and he didn’t attack me—he only gave my hand a light peck when I reached out to pet him. Should I just leave him alone, or is there a better way to handle this?
There are several factors at play here. How does he “hurt” the pullet when he mates her? Does he draw blood? Does he peck her unmercifully? What is he doing exactly? If he’s not actually causing her physical harm, you could separate him until the girls are more mature. This would be an option for me if he has not come after me or any other human in a situation where he wasn’t being interrupted while doing what comes natural for him.

Now, if he’s truly injuring the hen, I’d remove him permanently. If he’s acting aggressively toward me or any other human - especially without provocation - I’d remove him permanently. We all have our levels of BS tolerance that we’ll put up with, and mine is pretty low. My grandkids like to bring “treats” to the chickens (table scraps) and pick eggs. Any cockerel or rooster that so much as gives them the stink-eye is at first closely watched and removed if I don’t like how he’s progressing.
