I noticed yesterday my rooster (15 weeks old) was limping around the run! It looked like his toe could possibly be broken - no open cuts or anything like that. I put him in a coop in my garage because the hens were chasing after him and jumping on him. I have a camera out in the run but my wifi was out so I have no idea what happened to his foot 😢

This morning I checked his foot again and this bruise is there now. His toes aren’t crooked or anything so I’m not sure about splinting? Should I just keep him separated and let him rest? I gave him vitamin water and he’s eating and drinking like normal he just limps and holds up his leg when standing. Anything else I can do for him??

Hi! I'm so sorry!

If you can keep him in a cage in your chicken run, he should make a full recovery. I'd just make sure he's eating well and drinking.
I was actually just talking to my husband about moving the crate out to the run for him tomorrow - that sounds like a good idea! Thank you!

It does look like he has injured his foot. Maybe he landed on it when it was curled under. I would limit his running around and no jumping. The crate with food and water for a week or so would be helpful. Let us know how he gets along.
