Hi I have 3 chickens i'd like yall to look at. The first one with the black is an amerucana. Is it a rooster? The other 2 are barnyard mix I let one of my broody girls hatch. I'm not sure if the darker one is a rooster either. Also im curious about the breed mixes. My rooster is a saphire olive egger. My hens are brahma, midnight magesty maran, sapphire olive egger and starlight green egger.

What do yall think🤔

He is an Easter Egger cockerel.. commonly and misleadingly sold as AmerIcana. Alleged to represent the breed AmerAUcana.. but not conforming to the standard of perfection.

I would also agree with post #2.

I have no guesses about possible crosses since all in question are basically from hybrids. If Brahma were the mama.. then the pea comb and feathered legs *should* have passed on to the offspring.

Fun looking bunch! 🥰

Thanks so much for all the info. I need to do a little more learning about the differences between the amerucana/easter eggers and americanas. They were definitely sold as amerucana. But honestly breed doesn't matter to me I just like to have fun egg colors but it's good to know what I have 😊😊

I’m thinking the mom of your mixed breeds has to be either the Starlight Green Egger or sapphire OE. The Brahma would’ve passed on feathered feet, and the marans probably would’ve as well. Pics of the parents might help, but overall it’s super tough to tell on mixes.

If American is in the name they are mixed breeds (Easter eggers). Ameraucana are pure breeds.
