Rooster suddenly aggressive

We've had our girls and 1 rooster since day one.they are probably 8-9 months old. I've never had any problems with my rooster. He's attacked my 4 yr old once but cause my son was scared of him,but never has he attacked me. About 3 weeks ago he was injured and I kept him separated but with the girls and now he's back with them. For the past 2 days he's full on flogging me all I was doing was giving treats. I've asserted my dominance but that didn't help. I finally got able to pick him up held his neck( not tightly) until he calmed down so I thought but he got me on my lip. So now he's in rooster jail,but what do I do he's never done anything like this to me before and now he's limping again just like his injury a few weeks ago

He attacked a child, that is unacceptable. He should have been in a stewpot by the end of that day.

I agree with nuthatched; things will only get worse for you. The hens won't miss him. I sent my young roo back to the breeder after he tore my left calf open, then decided my dogs were his next targets. Don't risk an injury to youself or your young child. Get a nice rooster.

Aggressive roosters usually start by attacking children, then they move on to attacking adults. There's no fixing him, he'll only get worse. Cull him immediately before he causes you or your child more serious injury. I would actually reconsider having a rooster altogether until your son gets older as young children in particular can take an attack to the face and sustain serious injuries and even lose eyes if they get attacked by an aggressive rooster. I think both you and your son will be happier with an all hen flock for the time being

I agree with everyone above. My child means more to me than any silly rooster. Always solve for peace of the flock and peace of the humans

Freezer camp. He has entered dirtbag territory and like everyone has said, not safe. Not worth the risk!

I mean you can always get a new rooster, if you really need one. .. (do you? Are you going to be hatching chicks? If so you don't want to hatch out of an aggressive one, for certain.)
