Rooster very sick, bumblefoot complications

Pics
Wow that looks so good! He is such a handsome fellow. Will the goal be to get him back outside eventually?
Yes! Well, eventually. It's winter right now so not for a while, plus I'd like to get him adjusted to alternating between the eventual prosthetic and the wheelchair but it would be so nice to see him with all the others at some point.
I'll have to be careful with re-introductions though, make sure he's able to handle himself and that the other two boys we have are polite and all of that. But I am keeping my fingers crossed anyway!

I hope he’s able to make a smooth transition. I’m sure he will love the freedom of being outside again when the time comes. What a trooper! Thanks for all the updates, it’s been great to follow along and see his progress.

Thanks for the update ! He certainly has come a long way, and he has shown a strong will to live. I'm glad he can have a girlfriend with him, I'm sure that must mean a lot to him ! You've done an impressive job caring for him, and I hope he can regain as normal a life as possible.

Sorry I can't help with the colour. Looks like black breasted silver to me, but it's hard to tell on the picture. I had a cockerel like this that we rehomed to a neighbour and his mane was definitely lemony.

Just going through some Bumblefoot threads as I’m battling it atm… how’s he doing??
He's doing fine these days, thank you! Sorry for no updates, there haven't been many as of right now. We are just trying to keep warm at the moment, there's been a nasty cold chill and a lot of snow coming through 🥶.
But he is a pretty happy house rooster and he'll stay a house rooster till it gets warmer outside and we're able to get the stuff we need in for his leg.
We brought in a hen who was having a bad molt and now he starts crowing at 5-6 in the morning to show off for her (Not so cute, RIP sleep:smack) and we hear em clucking back and forth to each other (that part is pretty cute).
I'll try and get some pictures of him tomorrow, he also decided to molt right about the time he got sick, horrible horrible timing but he's all shiny and pretty again these days.
I hope your bumblefoot journey goes well. There's definitely a lotta threads, mine's absolute worst case scenario I guess short of the bird dying but statistically I'm pretty sure you've got this!

That’s amazing!!! Just goes to show it can be a success and that PTS is sometimes too quick a decision when people give up early one. This gives me some hope, currently I have floppy toes, don’t know if they’ll regain movement in future but as they’re staying “open” it means she can stand up normally. Mines a falcon so I’m hoping as long as she continues to stand ok she’ll be able to be trained and fly, and I’ll just have to adapt perches to be large ledges so she can’t fall off :)

That sounds like a good plan! I never considered birds that weren't chickens could get it, but it makes sense. Fingers crossed for her recovery :fl.
And let me see, here's some Goose pictures from this morning [he is yelling in one of them].

Does he get alone okay with his stump?
he sits or stands around mostly, he does hop sometimes and he's surprisingly mobile when he wants to get somewhere. But I would very much prefer we get him a prosthetic (which is the plan, but between weather and personal things that have been happening, it may take longer than we'd hoped). That is why he's a house rooster though, so he can be as comfortable as possible while he waits for a new leg.

Aw, he’s in such good hands. I’m glad he is getting along okay in the meantime. I think that his lady friend is a good distraction from his leg for now 😌
