Roosters feet look so sore?!

Hello guys!

I just picked up this Rooster today and noticed his feet are like this. I asked the seller what I should do and they told me nothing, he will be fine.

I have picked up some scaly leg spray (the one attached) should I spray some of this?

Is this mites or something else going on?

He has scaly leg mites and also his leg feathers have been pecked off by others or possibly himself. I would soak inis feet in warm soapy water for about 15 minutes, and then dry him well. Then apply a thick oil to his legs and rub it in to smother the leg mites. Do this daily or every other day for a week or two, and then do it twice a week or as needed. Continue for 1-2 months until new healthy scales grow in. The most common oils to use are vaseline, mineral oil, castor oil, Nustock Cream that has sulfur to kill mites, and Vicks salve which has menthol and camphor and also will kill mites. His feathers may grow back once his legs heal. Here is some reading:

Will the other hens have pecked his feathers because of the mites or is this just something that they will do anyways?
