I am very sure I saw roundworms in my hens poop. Occasionally they've had watery poop but everyone seems okay overall. One is molting right now so I know we will wait until after the molt to deworm.
What dewormer do you all recommend? I have heard to use safeguard but I am scared to administer it directly with syringe.
Anyone have luck hiding it in food or a treat?

Or anyone have luck putting a dewormer in their water? Open to all suggestions and success stories:)

And I will plan to do a big coop clean out a day after deworming- tips for this? Can I put anything down to help clean it out and kill the eggs?
Thank you so much!
(I have 5 cinnamon queen hens who have access to free roam but have mostly been staying in their pen due to winter weather lately)

Hi Wachrslaz! I'm no expert but want to assure you that the direct-dosing of the Safeguard liquid with a syringe is not hard. There are good pictures on this forum of the birds' mouth and how you need to just aim down their right side of their gullet. Sounds scary but it isn't. The suggestion to just go in at night after their crop is emptied a bit worked well for me. They're very compliant and really don't seem to mind at all, mine at least. For me, I found the horse paste a real messy bother. Do-able but the liquid was way easier. (cheaper too).
