We have one on our garage coop and are very happy with it. But the coop out at the farm has a different (discontinued) auto door that needs replaced. Has anyone mounted a Run Chicken door on the inside of the coop instead of the outside? I'm trying to think of any reason that it wouldn't work just as well.

I'm about to buy my first automatic chicken door. I chose run chicken because it's the only decent door available in EU (I wanted to bu ypullet shut but shipping+import taxes rise its price at impossible levels).
Since it's very hot in summer where I live and the side of my coop that is in direct sunlight can get up to 80°C on metal surfaces, I need to place the door on the inside or the batteries might explode.
I chose a model with no solar panel right for this reason (very dumb choice from run chicken to not give a separated solar panel).
If I program it to work on GPS, it shouldn't need the sunlight to open and close, right?

I have Run Chicken. There's the sensor that will automatically opens 20 min after "sunrise" and close 20 min after "sunset." I use quotes because it's not exact.

There's also a setting in the app where you can set up your GEO location and it won't use the sensor. I believe there is also a setting where you can choose a time in the app. You have to use the app for both of these settings to configure because factory setting will use sensor.

The Ador has an accessory that you can mount the door on the inside, but run the accessory wire to the outside that is a light sensor, so it knows to open/close the door, even tho the door itself is mounted in an area that doesn't get natural light.
