We are feeling a bit sad tonight...
In April we ordered 6 chickens and on a whim we decided to add two female pekin ducks. We got them, loved them, they grew and soon we found out that one of our females was actually a male. A few weeks back he started coming after me and my kids. Now this past week he started attacking 2 of my bantam girls. We found our Drake with the our bantam by the throat numerous times.
We decided it was time to find them a new home a friend of a friend who has 8 ducks, 2 geese, and 16 chickens took them. My 6 year old daughter cried the full hour it took to drive home. Our chickens and ducks are strictly pets (literally we don’t even eat eggs). So it stinks to see them go. I’m sad they won’t be treated as great and spoiled like they were here.
Anyway, anybody else get super attached to their chickens/ducks? I honestly love them as much as I love my dogs.
