What kind of temperament can I expect from a salmon faverolle roo? I know it can vary by individual bird but do they tend to run more aggressive or docile? I just placed an order for salmon faverolle chicks, including one roo, to add to my silver laced Wyandotte trio.

How are they at looking out for their flocks? My hens are in a run most of the time but I would like to free range them for longer periods when I’m home. Right now I just let them out about an hour at a time and I would like to leave them out a good chunk of the day when I’m off. We mostly have nighttime predators but there are some hawks around so an extra set of eyes watching out would be nice.

Also, does anyone have a cross of the two breeds? I’m curious what their offspring would look like.

As you wrote, it's more a matter of the individual bird. SF roosters are supposed to be on the more docile side.
Mine is a butthead. But he's a great flock leader.
The extra set of eyes to the sky is only good if they have cover to make it to when the alarm sounds.
All mixed offspring from my SF rooster have had lightly feathered legs, beards, muffs and nearly all have had the 5 toes on both feet.

I've not had a Faverolle rooster, only hens, but the breed as a whole is EXTREMELY docile, to the point of being bullied if you have more aggressive breeds in your flock, so I'm not sure how they would be as a flock guardian.

My Faverolle hens are sweet, my Faverolle Rooster is about to lose his head, literally.
I have these good Roosters that don't attack people: Large Cochin, Bielefelder, Silver Laced Barnevelder, Blue Birchen Maran, Blue Maran, Bantam Cochin, Isbar, and Phoenix.
I've noticed that the sweetest hens of a breed have the nastiest roosters....

I've had a couple SF roos and so has my neighbor. All have been calm, gentle birds that treated the hens nicely. I was surprised to read that some have had buttheads of roos. SFs are my favorite breed of rooster.
