Our all hen flock has a little bit of everything. Last year one of my birthday chicks was a salmon Faverolle. My run is near the driveway in between my shop and house, so they are in our family main space and get a lot of interaction.

One of their "adorable" behaviors is yelling at us for treats when they see me, or hear the doors opening or even when delivery drivers go by.

Our Salmon (her name is Chocobo) is by far the loudest. I hear her before everyone else, I hear her sometimes yelling at me over the machines of my shop.

She is also has definitely encouraged everyone else to be louder and more vocal.

I love her so much. I'm always surprised at how much personality and joy I get out of these chickens

I got a trio of loud girls. Basil, my flock leader, a lakeside egger (Meyer hatchery designer easter egger), Ginger, an easter egger and the flock mischief maker and Ginkgo, another easter egger who's my friendliest (although the whole flock is friendly). There's also one bird who I haven't figured out who it is yet who absolutely cannot sing the egg song well at all. Literally sounds like a dying animal when she sings. Threw me for a loop first time I heard it but obviously now I know that it's just someone who desperately needs singing lessons lol

My two Marans (BCM and Blue Marans) are the loudest. They YELL when they lay, they YELL when I come out, they YELL when I’m done handing out treats and they think they still need more…when my BCM goes broody (4-5 times a year, oh dear), she YELLS the whole time I have her separated from the flock to break her. 🙄

I wish it was cute. I love when they talk to me, but those two ladies are too much! I have many talkers, but the way speak at a reasonable volume 😂
