Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m experimenting with a natural drink recipe for my chickens and wanted to get feedback from more experienced poultry keepers. Here’s the recipe I’ve been using:
  • Apple cider vinegar: Add 1 tablespoon to 1 liter of water.
  • Chamomile and nettle tea: Brew 1 teabag of each herb in 1 liter of water, let it cool, and then add it to the mixture.
  • Turmeric: Add a pinch to the tea or water to boost immunity.
  • Garlic granules: Add 1/4 teaspoon to the drink or directly to the feed.
  • Oregano: Add it to the tea or sprinkle it over the feed to protect against bacteria and infections.
I’m particularly interested in whether this combination is safe and beneficial for the chickens in the long run. Should I dilute it further before offering it to them? Are there any adjustments you’d recommend?
Thank you in advance for your advice and insights!
Best regards,

Best thing for chickens to drink is fresh clean water.

I've used acv in my birds' water before, didn't notice any difference. The only thing I noticed that made any sort of difference is some electrolytes in one of their waterers (never both) when it's 100F outside with 100% humidity. They seemed to be not quite as hot when I did that
