I saw something that if you want to sell fresh butchered chicken and you don't have a license you can sell it as dog food or animal food? As long as it's not for human consumption. Has anyone done this? I have private people local that want to buy meat and I'm trying to be careful about this. I have given fresh meat as a gift to a friend and she loves it. Others want to buy it. Any advice?

Look up your local laws regarding this, there's not alot we can tell you you unless you say exactly where you live.
If anything, you could sell the birds for them to butcher.
I'm in Florida and I saw something about cottage laws too but I'm not 100% clear yet. I'm sick this weekend so my brain is low function.

If you have several people interested, might be worth it to see what it'd take to get a meat license
The other problem I have about that is in my city we are allowed 2 chickens. No one here has 2 though. Most are 5-30 chickens. The city mostly doesn't care as long as your neighbors don't complain. Not too sure I'd be granted a license.

One way to do it is to sell them a live chicken that you take to the butchers. They pick it up at the butchers and pay the kill fee. They pay you separately. This is how I purchase meat on the hoof.
