Serama! breeding Question on coloring ***PICS***

If i bred a white serama roo over a black hen, what color will the offspring be?

I think that white is pretty dominant over black...Well, I guess it depends on if the white is dominant or recessive.....?? Black is a pretty dominant gene too...
You would have to know the back ground of the white bird I think.....

Im not the best to ask, because I breed neither black or white birds, lol.

I know lots that breed white and they say that they are always trying to get dominant white so that they Serama can breed true?

O i thought it may result in a splash or something lol i'm slow. So they will be one solid color?

If they are both solid birds, I think that the more dominant solid would show, but there is a long list of color genes that I am not familiar with. Did you check the color calculator?

Seramas are different than other breeds the only way that you will get a solid color is if they have been worked on to breed true white is one of them but if they didnt come out of a line with that dominant gene then you will get all kinds of colors and more than likely not one color completely alike! but yes you will more than likely get more solids but you may still mottling too!

Over all Serama can produce any of over 2500 documented color varieties, with single pairs possibly producing offspring much different from themselves in color and pattern. Breeding a black bird to a black bird does not mean one will get black offspring."

wow ok thats cool that i would get a mixture of colors without to many being the same =] Its unique and that way they don't all look alike

I cant wait He's so pretty. O by the way he's silkied aand if i breed him with smooth will all the chicks be silkied or some of them or none of them?
