Serama next to a bantam

I don't see a Cochin bantam in this picture 🤔 Are you sure you don't have a Cochin mix? The bantam hen in the back looks a lot smaller than my Cochins are.

I don't have any Seramas, but here's a picture of one of my Cochin bantams next to one of my Old English if that helps any. Many Seramas are of similar size to Old English even though they technically should be a little smaller.

Oh my goodness, that's a big size difference. Good photo! Cochins are definitely on the larger size of bantams(not to say they're big, they aren't, just way fluffier than other bantams), but that's a bit easy to forget until you compare them to other bantams. Love this photoo.

I'm sure she's mostly Cochin but she was either very poorly bred or had something else crossed in her. Every other Cochin bantam I've seen was similarly sized to her. :idunno As I said before, the Serama was one of my largest so that might be messing with the size comparison. I couldn't find any pictures of my smaller Seramas next to any of my other bantams.
Here are a few more picture of the Cochin and one of her sisters.

Yeah, they're definitely not pure Cochin. The lighter color one has white shanks (Cochins should have yellow shanks) and the darker one is way too chicken-shaped, as I like to say. Cochins are very spherical and fluffy, and even the poorer quality ones tend to have more fluff to them. Definitely still beautiful, adorable little ladies, regardless! :love

Seramas: 12-16 oz in the Standard of Perfection

OEGB are supposed to be 20-24 but maybe they are smaller than they are supposed to be.

Ope, my Old English are definitely quite undersized then! This is the same hen from the picture before; the screen has a bit of glare over it in this shot, but it says 14.3 ounces.

Thank you! I was pretty happy that they cooperated for that and let me get a picture without running off, or without Trixie (the Cochin) pecking at Vega (the Old English) and chasing her away. She was too busy trying to peck at me instead.

Well so we don’t have any breed confusion can someone just post a picture of a serama in their hand or next to something relatable like a roll of paper towels or a hairbrush?

I unfortunately don't have any Seramas of my own, but it looks like Fluffy provided a shot of one! Apologies for the bit of a hijack I started on your thread

These are two Seramas that I got from Jerry's Serama in Louisiana. Eli and Cocoa approximately 8 months. She didn't want to stand up on the piano.
