Sorry if this has already been answered but I’ve searched around and can’t find an answer to this particular situation. Inherited a flock of 9 chickens and 1 guinea as adults about six months ago. Previous owner stated the Guinea was a hen. I am a first time poultry owner and they had raised a few flocks including guineas so took their word for it. About a month ago the Guinea started attacking the barred rock and yesterday I witnessed mounting. All of this has been very weird since the Guinea was raised from keet with the 9 chickens. Anyhow have done the separation thing - moved the attacked chicken. Then moved the Guinea to a separate coop after the chicken wounds healed. The chicken reintegrated with the flock well. After the mounting yesterday though more wounds on the chicken so guinea is in a large pet carrier inside the coop. The mounting and the timing of when this started happening (spring) made me think it has something to do with breeding season and that this might be a rooster so did research into the calls and sure enough it is a rooster. Anyhow all that rambling to say, am considering options and wondering if finding a female guinea would potentially keep the male off the hen chickens or if it would exacerbate the issue.

The best thing you can do with your guinea cock is to rehome it to someone who has a large flock of guineas.

Guineas that are imprinted by chickens lose the ability to understand there is a difference between guineas and chickens. Guineas have entirely different instincts than any other poultry. They are a flock bird and do best in large groups of other guineas.

Getting a guinea hen for your guinea cock will not solve your problems.

Eliminating him from your flock by rehoming him to a non-chicken environment or inviting him as the guest of honor at dinner will solve your problem. Guineas are delicious.

I see that you are a new comer, so...
Welcome to Backyard Chickens!!

I have only been on here for a few months myself and have found the experience very rewarding. I hope it will be the same for you.
