I was just wondering if Aussie shampoo would be safe to use on a goat...(She got COVERED in mud...don't ask

Aussie is a really gentle shampoo...I just thought I would go ahead and ask. I ended up just spraying her down in the shower without using any soap...wish I had went ahead and used the aussie but it seemed simpler that way...

P.S Washing a goat in the shower(even a small pygmy) is not an easy chore, they squirm, bleat, and slip about in the tub like the shower head is some sort of monster

I pray for no more muddy goats

Oh gosh. I kept my little buck inside last night because of the rain (and my bratty girls beating him up) and 5oclock this morning he started screaming because my hubby left for work. so i had to come sleep on the couch so he could see me & go back to sleep. I can only imagine what a goat , in the shower, covered in mud would be like

We use Mane & Tail shampoo and conditioner for the show goats but in a pinch have used baby shampoo so we wouldn't have to worry about heavy fragrances. As long as you rinse everything out well it should be fine also in a pinch you can use dawn dish soap.

There's this comb/washer thing you can buy at some goat supply stores like Jeffers or Valley Vet...it's relatively cheap too. It looks like a rubber brush with a handle on the back of it and it screws into the end of a garden hose. The water comes out onto the rubber bristles and you brush/wash your goat that way. Of course, most garden hoses only have cold water so you couldn't really use this in the winter/fall, but in the summer it sure works great!
