Hello BYC, I took my old girl to the vet because I noticed she had a closed eye and was shaking her head, upon inspection he found a lump under her eye around her check he told me she had a sinus infection and prescribed clavamox twice a day 250mg for 2 weeks she’s been on it for 1 week and no change her lump is really noticeable now and her eye is still closed and she continues to shake her head she’s still drinking but barely has an appetite it’s as if she wants to eat but the shaking of the head prevents her, so at this point we’re force feeding her and giving her vitamin water with electrolytes in it, he said he would call me Monday to follow up is there ANYTHING else I can do? I would hate to lose her my girls are crying.

Clavamox and amoxicillin may not treat some bacterial respiratory diseases, due to mycoplasma or MG not having a cell wall. Coryza has a bad odor. Do you smell anything rotten? MG, I don’t believe, has an odor, but Tylosin or Denagard, and some Tetracyclines are used to treat MG. Coryza is usually treated with culling or sulfa antibiotics.

She has no smell wants to eat but the head shaking won’t let her and when she drinks water she opens her mouth as if needing air I’m so heartbroken here are some pictures

It's possible she may have been pecked in or around her eye.
Please post a photo or two of her swollen eye.
I have posted pictures I’m not sure if she was pecked in the eye but I did notice the others began to attack her and they had never done that before that’s when I took her inside with me and she’s been in a crate away from the others

To me it looks as if she might have an ear infection. Look inside her ear cavity to see if there is any pus that needs to be removed. Also check the inside of her beak and the backside of her mouth and throat in case something got stuck.
What exactly am I looking for inside the ear color wise?

no I don’t smell anything bad on her

Is your coop large enough to leave the crate in with her flock for company? You can inspect her ears with a QTip. If there is gunk in the ear, you can put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide into the ear, and clean it out. Plain Neosporin or triple antibiotic can be put into the Esau canal to treat an ear infection. It can go along with a respiratory disease, or she may have been pecked.
