Should I clip the nail of my Salmon Faverolle's fifth toe?

I have three (twelve-week-old) chicks that all seem to have overgrown nails on their silly thumbs - is this normal? Should I trim them? Will they keep growing and get out of control?

Short answer is yes as they don't wear those nails down, as they can break if not trimmed on occasion, but at 12 weeks they shouldn't be overgrown.
