Should I cook lentils and rice before feeding?

I read through many of the feeding posts and I'm unclear on a couple of things.

SHould lentils (since they are legumes) be sprouted or cooked before giving? I've noticed many recipes with raw lentils.

Should brown rice also be cooked before and not given raw?

what about chickpeas? Should they be cooked, too? or do they qualify as being peas and be given raw?

Thank you,
Rachel

Neither lentils or rice need to be cooked! Lentils and field peas or split peas can be safely fed to hens without cooking. Uncooked rice is an ingredient in many pigeon feeds. Cook them if you like, but it is not necessary.

I agree, There is no need to cook them.
I feed a all grain Pigeon feed as a scratch grain and it has rice, peas and mung bean it plus about 8 other grains and seeds in it and all my bird are just fine.

I buy cock mix, it contains raw lentils,
chickens love it!
My chickens also love them sprouted, I soak
them over night too...
