Should i teach my duck how to fly?

I have a drake around 8 months old and i've been discussing with my family whether or not i should teach him how to fly so...Should i teach him???

Many breeds of domestic ducks cannot fly, not well anyway. If your duck is of the variety that can fly, he will figure it out on his own. Definitely do not drop him from high up or toss him into the air, ducks have fragile legs and domestic ducks have particularly heavy bodies and there is risk of injury when the duck lands (they are not all that graceful).

Ducks don't need to be taught how to fly. If he is a breed that can fly then he will learn on his own, he does not need to be taught by a human or parent bird.

First of all he is a pekin but lately he refuses to eat and weighs around 2 kilos.
Secondly i've been wanting to teach him to fly because i feel its a natural behaviour every duck should know. But i dont know whether or not i should teach him.

Pekins cannot fly due to body structure/weight/center of gravity/etc. whether you teach him or not.

Yeah, no pekins can't fly. Don't waste your time trying to teach him. If you ever have a bird that can grow up to fly it will not need any teaching either.
