I'm building my very first coop and run and am looking for inspiration to decorate my run!
I've seen some really fun things like chicken swings and a chicknick table as well as different kinds of holders for snacks, but I am hungry for more!!

So if you have any cool toys or decorations that you're really proud of, please show it off here! :D

chicken swings
I don't think chickens like them.
chicknick table
They may like to perch on them.

Appeal to a chicken's natural instincts to scratch, perch and dust bathe.
I scour the curbs on garbage day looking for old wood stools or chairs people are discarding and take them.
You can get free pallets from the big box stores and lean them against the run walls.
You can get stumps of varying girth and height and make arrangements for the birds to perch on. I also spread food out on them at breakfast and the flock likes to spread out and eat at these different locations.
Install branches for perching.
Use a run litter that they can scratch through, dig holes in and bathe in.

My husband is cleaning/organizing the garage. I try to look through the stuff he's getting rid of to see if it can be used for the chickens. LOL
This is another branch of chicken math. It's the "How can I use/repurpose this item for my chickens?"

This area of study has been known to make people stop and go through another person's garbage on trash day. It has been known to make people look covetously at a neighbor's roll of fencing in their garage. Offer to haul away someone's scrap metal or wood, to "get it out of their way," knowing full well you'll use it to build something for your chickens. Ordinarily shy people will talk to strangers about "stuff," asking if they can have it or buy it.

Be careful; this becomes an addiction too, just like the chickens themselves.

x2 - in my area a lot of folks put out free junk on the curb a few days before trash day, and that can be anything from scrap bits of wood to furniture to car parts. I always keep my eyes open for "chicken junk."

Then I am doomed, because I've been this way my whole life and I don't even have chickens yet.
