Hello I’m new to this community and i’m not sure if this is how you post on here, but I just wanted to come on here and share a concern I have for one of my chicks. I’m raising bantam chicks for the first time and all of them seem to be doing fine except one of them is concerning me. He’s always closing his eyes and resting while standing, none of the other chicks do this. He eats food and drinks water just fine, I just don’t understand why he does this. I’ve raised chicks as young as a day old before but I haven’t seen any of them act like he does. Does anyone have any ideas???

I'd see about giving him some chick vitamins or Poutry Nutri-Drench to see if you can perk him up. Good that he's eating and drinking but he shouldn't be standing around like that all the rest of the time.
I see, I was thinking similarly, but would it affect the other chicks as they’re sharing the same food and water in any way? The nutri-drench I mean. I’ve heard not to give healthy and alert chicks nutri-drench, but again Im not entirely sure.

you can give it but not all the time. after 2-3 days you will see if that helped. another thing that helps a lot is boiled egg yolk. mix it with their feed. just make sure the weak one eats it. you can hand feed if needed.

I give all my chicks Nutri-Drench on arrival, diluted in their drinking water, for 1-2 days. Just a good pick-me-up for them and doesn't hurt as a short term boost.

You can also direct dose him with a couple drops at full strength on the lower beak and let him swallow, just be careful as chickens can aspirate liquids.
