Hello, I have a unwell hen, she is looking healthy, red comb, healthy looking poos, tail up eating and drinking and not lethargic.
But when I pick her up I feel her abomen is large and solid and she is dropping weight.

I'm not sure what's wrong with her?

Welcome to BYC. How old is she? Do you have any pictures of how she looks? Is it her lower belly under the vent that is enlarged? How does her crop feel? Check it first thing in the morning before she eats or drinks and let us know if her crop is empty. Is her breast bone/keel feeling more prominent? A firm lower belly and weight loss might be a sign of cancer or a reproductive disorder.

She is 3 years old, some mornings she still has some food in her crop,
Her brest bone is feeling more prominent and it's large and solid from the bottom on her keel to her cloaca.

Should I take her to the vet?
