Hi! My chicks are still sick with sneezing and some are a little wheezy. It has been 10 days and they have been treated with 5 days of tiagard and are now getting VetRX. I feel like their eyes look a little swollen, but maybe they’re just changing as they’re growing.

Is there anything else I can do? This is my first time with chicks and I am not having fun as I was not expecting to be caring for them being sick! We lost power during a blizzard for 8 hours while they were 1.5 weeks old and it’s the only thing I can think of that would have caused this.

They’re between 3-4 weeks old now.

Where did the chicks come from?

Did you see improvement with the Tiagard (Tiamulin)?

You can try Tylosin to see if that makes any difference.

Is there a bad odor?

The first chick does look to have some facial swelling, are there any lesions or plaques inside the beak?

Any bad odors?

I got them from a local farm store who gets them from Cackle Hatchery. I did notice some improvement with tiagard, but there was still sneezing.

No bad odors, nothing in the beak. That specific chick does have chubby cheeks (she’s a salmon favorelle) but her eyes just look slightly swollen and a little sicky to me. I’m trying to think about what else I can use to help them and just hope that it eventually goes away???
