Hey everybody. This morning I noticed two black poops in my duck run. I checked peggy and she had a little black poo around her vent, so I know it was her. She wont eat her pellets, but ate some scratch grains, dandelion, and tomatoes. But she won’t drink much at all. I don’t know what to do. I want to take her to the vet, but I can’t do it today and it’s the weekend. Also, my mom is out of state and I have ten of my siblings to babysit so I can’t leave the house unless I get someone to babysit. My mom won’t be back for another week. And even if I do take her to the vet, I only have about $200 and don’t know what tests the vet would do.
Peggy doesn’t seem lethargic. For the past week she has been biting me pretty hard, but I thought that was just her being over enthusiastic about treats. But maybe it is because she hasn’t been feeling well? Also, I keep thinking maybe my new duck gave her something, and I just didn’t know it? But he seems totally fine.
I’d appreciate any advice at all because I am freaking out.

DON"T FREAK OUT!!! It is normal. Every once in a while you get a black poop. If it's happening every day, that's a problem!
:thumbsup
Thank you! I am mostly dealing out because she doesn’t seem to want food or water(but she did eat tomatoes) that and the black poop combined is scary

if she don't want to eat or drink for awhile then something is wrong….
Yeah, I just don’t know what. I know I should take her to the vet, but I can’t do it today, but then I’d anything happens I know I will feel terrible. I’m going to call the vet and see if I can come in tomorrow, but the vet see isn’t always at work on saturdays.

The vet isn't always necessary…. try some electrolyte water and nice feed and greens for now… and keep her in a nice clean place….

Ok so after I got all my yuounger siblings in bed I went out to check on Peggy again. I think she might be ok! It looked like she ate some of her pellets! I had left out tomatoes and peas for her,and she had eaten all the tomatoes but left the peas. She NEVER eats peas. I keep trying to get her to try them because everyone says that their duck love them, but she acts like I’m trying to feed her dirt!...oh wait. She does eat dirt... nvm:confused:
